Pearce Campus
HISTORY OF PEARCE CAMPUS

In 1989, Zion Benton Township High School’s Pearce Campus became the “old” high school as students were moved to a new campus named “Horizon Campus” on the west side of Zion, leaving a significant portion of Pearce available for rent.

In November 2001, Community Resources for Education and Wellness, Inc. (CREW), recommended leasing space at Pearce Campus to various organizations in order to bring more resources to the community.

In 2004, the United Way of Lake County awarded a grant to ZBTHS to assess the resources currently available to the residents of the Zion and Benton communities (or School District 126).  This effort engaged service providers and worked with them to create a structure that would assist individual community members to fully address and overcome the obstacles impeding their success. Love INC, CareNet Family Resource Center and Zion-Benton Children’s Services moved into the building as a result of the grant.

Since then, thanks to the ongoing support of the Zion-Benton Township High School District 126 School Board, much has been done to network area agencies to continue moving forward with the creation of a Resource Center for the ZB community, as is noted in this brochure.  For available space in Pearce Campus, contact ZBTHS Superintendent Chris Clark at clarkc@zbths.org.
